Recording Techniques
'Bedlam' was recorded live (no click-track or other form of time keeping was used) with Robin Abas performing drums and R. Russell performing guitar. The drum kit was recorded using 4 microphones:
- Bass drum
- Snare
- Left overhead
- Right verhead
A Fender 'Stratocaster' guitar was used through a Fender 'The Twin' guitar amplifier, recorded using two microphones (both ATM 27HE Audio Technica Dynamic Hyper Cardoid), one infront of the amplifier and one behind.
An additional guitar overdub was performed using a Fender 'Jazzmaster' through a Marshall 'JCM 600' guitar amplifier using the same microphone as the other guitar parts. This created a complimentary sound for the guitar double. A guitar break (mini-solo) was also recorded using a Stratocaster through a Marshall 'JCM 600' guitar amplifier.
The bass guitar used was a standard model 'Encore' bass recorded direct, using the line-input on the mixing desk.
The main vocals and backing vocals were recorded using an ATM 27HE Audio Technica Dynamic Hyper Cardoid microphone, with additional vocal overdubs utilising distortion and delay effects from a Boss BE5B bass guitar effects unit.

Lyrics
Don't want you to be here.
Got nothing to say.
If I bide my time I think you'll find enough
to take it all away.
You hate the feeling
of no control.
The problem's solved if you're absolved of all
the games you used to play,
the games you used to play.
Don't keep knocking at my door no,
don't keep knocking at my door for more.
I've seen the future.
No better than the past.
At the end of the day if I had my way you'd
be going nowhere fast.
I've watched your head spin.
It's full of pain.
You're gonna find you've got no time there's
no one else to blame.
You can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
Can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
You can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
You hate the feeling
of no control.
The problem's solved if you're absolved of all
the games you used to play.
You can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
Don't keep knocking at my door no,
don't keep knocking at my door for more.
Don't want you to be here.
Got nothing to say.
If I bide my time I think you'll find enough
to take it all away.
You can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
Can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
You can't tell me we've not reached Bedlam.
